2007-08 NFL Season Predictions

Okay I know, I know… my blog sucks… I never write anything anymore… yada, yada, yada... Anyways, I wanted to get my season picks down in writing so I can prove to all of you my vastly superior knowledge of the NFL. Lol j/k. I went through and picked the division champs for every division, as well as predicting every team’s record and the order they will finish in their division. Corey! Unless Favre and Larry Johnson both go down their teams are not doing that horribly. They are both good enough to single-handedly win 6 or more games. Also with the coaching changes in San Diego, I'd be surprised if they won 14 games again. They have the talent, but switching coaching staffs will cause some missteps. Also where's the love for my Bucs? With all of their huge improvements.... the QB upgrade alone is worth 4 MORE games. They were starting a rookie 6th round draft pick last year! Finally, the way the Saints looked last night, I should have stuck to my prediction they were a one-hit wonder. I'm pissed I picked them to win the division.

oh yeah coach to be fired... maybe not mid-season, but this is his last year.... Joe Gibbs

Sorry, but I'm not falling for your attempt to get me to give away free and valuable football advice.

Nice try though.

Oh, and it's Crennel not Cremel. Just thought "you should know".

"I know" that it is a great day!! Let this day show a preview of the Super Bowl and prove that the Bears can handle the best the AFC has to offer.. and hope that the Colts get bumped off along the way. Oof! Peyton looked scary good in that first game. Brad, it seems we have very similar predictions for this season, except for one thing. I pretty much drew the AFC winner out of a hat between the Chargers, Colts, and Pats. You, my overly-optimistic friend, pulled the Steelers out of your ass. I think the Steelers will be better, but they're not in the same class as those teams. I hope I'm wrong, however. I'd love for the Bears to whoop on the Steelers in the Big Game. Merry Christmas, everyone!! The season is on!!!

. . . The glory shines brightly on his bruised face. He grabs the glory. He hoists the glory high above his head. Aaaand.. he FUMBLES the glory! He madly scrambles to pick it up, but inadvertently kicks it down the field! But wait! Cedric Benson is there to gather it up! Oh no! It slips out of his hands! Adrien Peterson can't handle it! It bounces back to Rex! But he throws the glory to the other team!. . . . . . . . . . . I am sad.

My favorite part of Golden's comment is "Who NOW has problems at RB and QB?" I think Benson and Peterson will be adequate backs, but there is that other problem...and it's actually one that existed before yesterday, and I believe I've mentioned it before...and I believe Golden described the problem in all its glory.

What I'd give to hear Chris Berman do commentary over that highlight.

Corey said...

I need to add two more comments.

First, there was one word that I cannot believe I didn't hear from in-game and post-game commentary regarding the Packers' first punt return fumble. Can anyone else think of the word? Halo. I really have no interest in the outcome of that stupid game. If anything, it gave Westbrook (one of my fantasy RBs) another series to gain points. But I cannot believe no one even brought up the possibility of the halo rule on that play. I know a special teams player running full speed can cover two yards (i.e. the halo) in a split second, but that guy never had a chance to catch the ball.

Second, I just saw some footage of Bills players and personnel responding to that horrendous injury to Everett (which may render him unable to walk again) and I was appalled at J.P. Losman's comments. Whereas everyone else just said how tough it was and sent their prayers to Everett and his family, Losman talked about how it underscores what makes football a "greater" game--the violence of the game. Wow, and he's leading that team.

OJ's done.

His quote today:

"I'm OJ Simpson. How do I think that I'm going to rob somebody and get away with it? I thought what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas."

One of his two accomplices turned state's evidence.
